PRAXIS

:acting on one's ideal
:the exercise or practice of a skill

This collaborative show of six artists' work is based upon advocacy of a variety of contemporary groups and justly representing them and their issues. Topics include ADHD in academic setting, corporate exploitation of the religious practice of yoga, body augemntation in women in the workplace, Autism Spectrum Disorder, veterans after returning from service, and interpersonal violence. These works mean to challenge our general understanding of these issues, as well as broaden the discourse on them.

All works from this exhibition demonstrate the power of printmaking as a message-spreader. Like in many of the topics covered, print is a misunderstood medium by the general public. The relation of The Multiple to commodity, product, and dissemination makes print a worthy medium for this collection of works.
